
As the summer ends and the school year starts there are many exciting events going on in Bothell high school's community, but as school starts so does the much anticipated Bothell high school football season. Bothell is coming off a heartbreaking semi-final loss to 4A runner-up Issaquah Eagles. However Bothell has an early opportunity to get revenge and show the state they have not lost their competitive edge. This will be on showcase vs Issaquah in week one at Qwest Field for the "Emerald City Classic". Bothell is coming off a 8-4 season with key loses at several positions due to graduation, however the Cougars are reloaded everywhere on the field. The Cougars bring back starting Senior QB, Mitchell Muller and Washington recruit TE/DE, Michael Hartvigson. Also the Cougars will introduce impact newcomer LT Colin Porter whom transferred from Redmond High School. Porter will help lead one of the biggest offensive lines in Bothell Football history. This will help open up running room for speedy Junior RB, Luke Proulx. Proulx presents Bothell with game changing speed in the back field. With Bothell losing both starting receivers from graduation, Senior WR tandem of John Sullivan and Adam Boase will be more then ready to take on the challenge of being the next great WR's to leave Bothell.
On the Defense, Bothell has a solid rotation of Senior LB's, Look for Seniors Ryan Loutsis and Jake Arzola to make a statement with their hard hits on defense. Bothell also boasts two college sized D-ends with Seniors Michael Hartvigson and Evan Hudson, Both players are listed about 6'6" and 240 pounds both players posses plus speed and strength to take down the Quarterback many times this season. In the secondary Bothell returns one safety which is Senior S, Colby Burk who possess great speed and provides great leadership on the defensive side.
Verdict: Bothell is poised for a great season and have a fairly soft schedule after Issaquah. Many have predicted a state championship match up of last years KingCo's Crown and Crest Championship game of Defending 4A state champ Skyline and Bothell.
